Our STEM instructors are energetic and highly motivated.  They are fascinated by all things science and love working with kids.  Our instructors are of diverse backgrounds and interests.  This diversity ensures a unique and fun learning experience for young STEM explorers.  illuMINDS prides itself in working effectively and creating a positive atmosphere at all program sites.  Meet our awesome team members . . .       

Socorro Sperati - Founder & Director
Born and raised in Mid City Los Angeles, Socorro studied Architectural Lighting Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City and practiced in the field for 15 years on a range of high-profile projects throughout the world.  In 2015 she ventured into STEM education for children, operating a small mobile business with the purpose of bringing engineering programs to Los Angeles schools.  Today, she is the founder and director of illuMINDS LLC, a creative entrepreneurial company that collaborates with various organizations to expand STEM education through efforts such as bilingual STEM programs, health & wellness programs, early childhood education programs, visual and performing arts programs, digital & graphic arts programs, etc.            

Ms. Eden - Program Manager
Ms. ​Eden is the program manager and a lead teacher at illuMINDS LLC.  She works with staff and students to ensure the success of our STEM programs.  Working with us since 2017, Eden loves inspiring and being inspired by all the incredible children that she works with.  Eden has a degree from UC Santa Cruz in classics, anthropology, and education.  She is a certified substitute teacher and hopes to continue cultivating a career in education.

Ms. Dani - Lead Instructor
Ms. Dani has been a lead teacher at illuMINDS LLC since 2015.  She has a BA in Psychology, experience working as a Behavior Analyst, and is working towards her masters and PhD to be a school psychologist.  A professional singer/songwriter, Dani incorporates her musical background into the "arts" of our STEM programs.

Ms. Silvia - Lead Instructor
​Growing up, Ms. Silvia enjoyed presenting her science projects and competing at science fairs.  Due to these experiences, she believes kids learn science best through hands-on exploration.  Since becoming a lead teacher at illuMINDS LLC, Silvia is happy to interact with and teach the future generations of STEM explorers.  She looks forward to pursuing her career in Animal Science.
